Clemessy Switzerland attended JUICE industrial consortium workshop

22.02.2018

On 8th February 2018, the Clemessy team attended JUICE industrial consortium workshop organized by ESA in ESTEC: European Space and Research and Technology Centre in Noordwijk, Netherlands.

This day was dedicated to the all industrial contractors involved in the development of the JUICE spacecraft. During the workshop, the current status of the mission and the development of the spacecraft critical activities were presented.

We are proud to be responsible for the delivery of the JUICE PCDU (Power Condition and Distribution Unit) simulator, which is composed of various COTS equipment and more than 40 LCL lines.

The JUICE spacecraft will provide an in-depth study of the Jupiter system in all its complexity by focusing on the three potentially ocean-bearing Galilean satellites, Ganymede, Europa and Callisto, as well as their habitability potential. The spacecraft will carry the most powerful remote sensing, geophysical, and in-situ payload complement ever flown to the outer Solar System.
The payload consists of 10 state-of-the-art instruments and an experiment that uses the spacecraft telecommunication system with ground-based instruments.

The launch is scheduled in 2022 and is foreseen to perform a 7.4 year cruise to Jupiter, based on Earth-Venus-Earth-Mars-Earth gravity assists.
