Flatsat / Avionics test bench

Real time testing of spacecraft and aircraft subsystems

Flatsat or Avionic Test Bench is aimed to support real time open-loop and close-loop testing of spacecraft or aircraft (Ironbird) subsystems. It provides facilities to accommodate the real flight subsystems in its real connection environment, for testing purpose.

Commonly it consists of the following components:

  • Physical benches
  • Bench ground plates
  • Unit adaptor plates
  • Dummy units connector brackets
  • Power connection of the units
  • TM/TC connection
  • Bus connections (MIL-STD-1553B, SpaceWire, CAN etc.)
  • EGSE interface cables
